About TuWatch Africa
Built by filmmakers, for filmmakers. And for every viewer who wants to watch something real.
TuWatch Africa is Kenya's first filmmaker-owned streaming platform. We built it to give African stories a direct path to audiences, without gatekeepers, subscriptions, or compromises.
TuWatch Africa is a pay-once platform. No subscriptions. No monthly fees. Viewers pay a one-time Shilingi price to unlock a title, and that access is permanent. Watch it once, watch it a hundred times. It's yours.
Payments are M-Pesa native. Top up your wallet with M-Pesa or card, then spend Shilingi on any title in the catalogue. Your Shilingi never expire.
Filmmakers earn 70% of every unlock. Payouts go directly to M-Pesa or bank transfer on a regular payout schedule.
TuWatch Africa was founded by Edwin Nyongesa, Kalasha Award-winning filmmaker and founder of Wabe Films. Built in Nairobi, Kenya.
We started TuWatch because we kept running into the same wall: great African films with nowhere to go. Streaming giants don't commission our stories. Theatrical distribution is expensive and limited. Social media buries long-form content. We decided to build the platform we always wanted to exist.
TuWatch Africa is filmmaker-owned, which means the people running this platform have made films, sold films, and understand what filmmakers actually need.
Submit your title for free. Keep your rights. Earn 70% of every viewer unlock. Payouts go directly to your M-Pesa number or bank account. You set your own price. You control your release.
We review every submission within 3 business days. If approved, your title goes live on the platform immediately and is discoverable by viewers across the continent.
This is your platform. We just run the infrastructure.
